Fun facts about humming birds
The body of an hummingbird weighs only a 10th of an ounce and still has fat reserves. There heart beats 21 times per second in that same second the wings beat 75 times. For migration they fly 500 miles nonstop.
A hummingbird's wings can flap up to 120 miles per hour. They can fly up down and forward. They flick their tails. They eat nectar and bugs for protein too!

The ruby-throated hummingbird migrates each year from the United States to Mexico and South America by crossing the 500 mile wide Gulf of Mexico . It makes this journey in eighteen to twenty hours nonstop.
PREDETORS
Hummingbirds predators are falcons, frogs, fish, and American Kestrel. The hummingbirds live in the rain forest and South America. Most hummingbirds migrate to North America each spring.
